WHICH CLASS IS RIGHT FOR YOU....

Little Kiwi Classes - available at Mt Eden City Club & Browns Bay
The pre-school program is designed to spark a child’s interest in Tae Kwon Do from an early age. Children are involved in physical activity that involves using both legs and arms, flexibility and stretching and activities designed to improve their mental focus and concentration.
We believe that altogether, this helps with a child’s physical skills to improve and allows them to participate in learning through improved attention and concentration.  Another important aspect of the pre-school program is teaching children respect towards their parents, caregivers and other adults. By learning to bow and to have correct posture, children will understand the importance of respecting people and things around them.
Being very young children, it is difficult for many pre-schoolers to learn discipline. Se Jong Tae Kwon Do program is made so that children can learn to be more disciplined in fun, interactive and engaging atmosphere.

Tiger Classes - available at Mt Eden City Club & Browns Bay
Kids Classes are designed to be fun and interactive.
Students in this class will not only learn respect and discipline, but they will also be encouraged to apply this at home and at school.
From simple things such as tidying up their room and being appreciative of their parents, to other factors such as forming healthy friendships and respecting teachers, students in this program will know that respect is something that they must always have even outside of Tae Kwon Do classes.
The Se Jong fitness program will also aim to ensure students are fitter, stronger, and healthier. Tae Kwon Do training can positively impact on concentration and the physical development of children through the kicking, striking and thrusting movements in Tae Kwon Do as well as the aspects requiring attention and mental focus.  Through participation in training, students in this program are likely to have improved confidence, improved physical wellbeing and improved concentration for school work.

Junior/Teen Classes - available at Mt Eden City Club & Browns Bay
In these Classes, students learn Tae Kwon Do as they focus on the physical and social aspects of Tae Kwon Do.
The main focus of these classes is on the deep meaning behind “Tae Kwon Do.” “Tae” means “strong kick”; “Kwon” means “strong fist”; and “Do” encompasses respect and humility. In Se Jong, we place a particular emphasis on respect and humility.
By learning Tae Kwon Do, students will learn to have patience and be respectful. Furthermore, they will have increased confidence, greater focus, a healthier body and mind that positively contributes to their development as a young adult.
Students in this class will be able to train alongside their friends from school, forming healthy friendships and we believe this can positively impact on their school work.  Young adults at high school have their own hopes and dreams; all of us at Se Jong will do our best to encourage students to have belief in themselves and belief that they can achieve their goals.

Adult classes - available at Mt Eden City Club & Browns Bay
Students will be able to participate in active and engaging Tae Kwon Do training sessions.
The art and discipline of Tae Kwon Do includes a range of techniques such as blocking, striking, kicking and thrusting.
As all these moves involve extending your body to various degrees, strength, agility and flexibility is a natural part of these activities. Through increased strength, agility and flexibility, your physical wellbeing can improve, which is very important for maintaining positive adult health.
Consequently, we believe that by following our fitness program, students will be stronger, faster, fitter and more agile.
As people age, there is natural decrease in flexibility. Adult classes are designed to counter this, so that students can maintain their flexibility and their health.  Our self-defence curriculum will help students to protect themselves and others around them, but we find that self-confidence may also increase.
Long training hours spent at the gym can be tiring and boring, but as Tae Kwon Do is done as a group activity, students will be able to meet other members that are friendly and encouraging. Also, because Tae Kwon Do focuses on increasing confidence, which may include focusing on power and confidence through Kihap (shouting) and mental focus and concentration, this may improve a person’s self-belief as well as being a great way to release stress.  At Se Jong, we believe that healthy and active people will make society healthier and more active.

High Performance Classes - available at Browns Bay only
These classes are made for students who wish to achieve their personal Tae Kwon Do goals through a structured, challenging programme that is designed to help them reach their potential.
Challenge Classes include kyorugi (sparring) classes and poomsae (pattern) classes, kyorugi is recognised as an Olympic Sport.
Grandmaster Oh was the New Zealand National Coach for 15 years. When Tae Kwon Do was selected to be an official sport of the Olympic Games, he coached the Tae Kwon Do athletes who went to the 2004 Athens Olympics – this was a first for New Zealand. He has also participated in the 2008 Beijing and 2012 London Olympic Games, coaching Tae Kwon Do athletes to 3 consecutive Olympic Games.
From students who aim to become Tae Kwon Do athletes, to those who aim to improve their confidence through participation in tournaments, challenge classes are open to everyone.  Challenge classes are run by former Se Jong Tae Kwon Do students who were also participants in the 2008 Beijing and 2012 London Olympic Games – instructor Logan Campbell and Instructor Robin Cheong, who teach alongside Master Oh.

Tae Kwon Fitness Training - available at Browns Bay only
Tae Kwon Fit is a high intensity fitness training built from the basis to Tae Kwon Do. Furthermore, by following a personalised fitness program, you’ll find that your fitness, flexibility and muscle tone will also improve.
The program will comprise extensive training in Poomsae (patterns), Kyorugi (sparring) and self-defence.
